Funerals

Funerals and Bereavement

Immanuel church has been holding funerals, and praying and caring for the bereaved within our community for over 75 years.

Many have found solace within the walls of Immanuel church and our aim is to continue to care for those in grief and bereavement in the name of Jesus Christ.

We offer the following:

Booking a Funeral.
If you need to book a funeral at Immanuel Church, please contact your local funeral directors who will be able to advise.
More helpful information can be found at https://www.churchofengland.org/life-events/funerals

Book of Remembrance.
In the church we have a Book of Remembrance where those who wish can have the names of their loved ones recorded. The pages are turned regularly and the book can be viewed by arrangement. We ask for a small donation for names to be written in the book.

Memory Tree.
On the first Saturday of December 10 am - 2 pm the church is open for all who have lost loved ones to come and write messages to hang on the Memory Tree.

The Memory Tree stays in the church over Christmas until the new year. Refreshments are offered by our bereavement team.

Jesus says to us in our grief,
‘Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden
and I will give you rest’.
